Mill Hall, PA – Jeremy Ohl of Jersey Shore claimed a thrilling victory on Friday Night in the Limited Late Model division at the Clinton County Speedway.   It was his second win of the season.  Chase Walker won the 270 Micro Sprints; AJ Stroup won the Pro Stocks and Hunter Flook won the 4 Cylinder feature event.

JR Toner of Bellefonte took the lead at the drop of the green flag in the Limited Late Model feature event.  By lap number 5, Toner was leading Ohl, Jim Yoder, Matt Cochran, and Ben Whitaker.  Toner continued to pace the field, with Ohl running in a close second place.  The caution came out on lap number ten for Matt Cochran.  By the midpoint of the race, Toner was leading with Ohl, Yoder, Whitaker, and Joe Loffredo in the top five.  Ohl tried on several occasions to pass Toner.

It wasn’t until lap number 19 until he successfully made the pass.  However, Ohl’s car drifted high on lap number 22, allowing Toner to reclaim the lead and appear to be on track to win his first feature of the year.  With two laps to go, Toner lead Ohl, Andrew Yoder, Jim Yoder, and Whitaker.   On the white flag lap, Toner entered turns one and two, with a slight lead over Ohl.  The duo entered into laps three and four in a fierce battle.  Toner missed his mark exiting turn number four, allowing Ohl to get along side of him in the race to the checkered flag.  Ohl got by him to win by .242 seconds.  Andrew Yoder was third, Ben Whitaker was fourth, and Jim Yoder was fifth.  Sixth through tenth were Matt Cochran, Joe Loffredo, Denny Fourney, Tim Luben and Len Stroud.  Heats were won by Cameron Benyou and Matt Cochran.

Jason Smith of Cogan Station and Kris Orwig of Mill Hall brought the field of Pro Stocks to the green flag.  Orwig took the early lead.  Fourth place starter AJ Stroup powered into the lead by lap number four.   By lap number five, Stroup lead Orwig, Brandon Moser, Johnny Bouse and Tommy Dawson.  A caution came out on lap ten for a spin by Noah Kissinger.  Stroup brought the field back to racing action while Moser and Bouse battled for second and third.  A three car accident occurred on lap 13, when Richie Fye, Noah Kissinger and Robert Tressler tangled in turn three.   On the final restart, Stroup held off Moser for the win.  Bouse settled for third with Dawson and AJ Hoffman completing the top five.  Sixth through tenth were Jason Smith, Noah Jensen, Kris Orwig Sr., Gary Mellott, and Rich Fye.  Heat races were won by Stroup and Smith.

In the 270 Micros Steven Fernburg and Cory Stabley started on the front row.  Stable took the early lead.  Eight place starter Chase Walker worked his way up through the field and took the lead on lap number six followed by John Roberts.  By lap number twelve, Walker led Roberts, Timmy Bittner, Bobby Sanso and Matt Fernsler.   Walker held off Roberts to claim his first career victory.  Second was Roberts followed by Bittner, Sando and Fernsler.  Sixth through tenth were Hunter Zimmerman, Tom Barkes, Lonnie McConahy, Mathew Dixson, and Ian Heaps.  Heat races were won by Sanso, Walker and Bittner. 

In Four Cylinder competition, Keith Haagen and Hunter Flook started on the front row.  Flook took the lead at the drop of the green flag with Chloe Smith and Tyler Stahl running in the top three.  Ninth place starter, Mike

Hepler marched his way to the front as Coty Maines and Kyler Stahl entered into the top five.   Flook lead every lap to claim his fourth win of the season.  Smith finished second but failed post-race inspection.   Hepler was credited with second followed by Coty Maines, Kyler Stahl and Bryun Hackenberg. Sixth through tenth were Donald Wynn, Andrew Rickets, Anthony Potter, Adman Harris, and Sam Creveling.  Heat races were won by Haagen, Troy Bennett, and Flook. 

The Clinton County Speedway will take off this Friday, July 29^th to allow for set up of the 49^th annual Clinton County Fair.   During fair week the speedway will host two events.  The first will be on Wednesday, August 3 featuring the 270 Micros, the 600 Micros, Pro Stock and Four Cylinders.  General Admission to the speedway will be a can food donation to the Central PA Food Bank.   Then on Friday, August 5^th the Limited Late Models, Pro Stocks 270 Micros and Four Cylinders will be in competition along with one on one spectator street drag racing.  Gates will open each day at 5PM, Hot Laps are at 7PM and Racing begins at 7:30. Mill Hall, PA – Ryan Kissinger of Bloomsburg is a contender for the season RaceSaver Sprint Car championship as he claimed this fourth win on Friday night at Clinton County.  “We are having fun and just focus on one race at a time,” said Kissinger in Victory.  Travis McClelland of Littlestown won his second feature event of the season in the Central PA Legends division.  Other winners included Lock Haven’s Jeffrey Weaver in the 270 Micro Sprints, Scranton’s Johnny Smith in the 600 Micro Sprints and Shawn Stahl of New Columbia in the 4 Cylinder Division.

Dustin Prettyleaf of Williamsport led the opening laps of the RaceSaver Sprint Car 25 lap main event.  At the completion of the fifth circuit, Prettyleaf led Kissinger, Johnny Smith, Jeffrey Weaver and Josh Beamer.  As the leaders approached lapped traffic, Kissinger closed in on Prettyleaf and was able to execute a pass on lap number 7. The caution came out on lap number nine, when Reed Thompson and Logan Jones tangled in turn number two. On lap number 12, Timmy Bittner moved into fourth place and took the third postion on lap number 18. Kissinger weaved his way through lapped traffic, with Beamer hoping for Kissinger to make a mistake. At one point Beamer was within striking distance, but Kissinger made a bold move and split between two lapped cars going down the back stretch.  A caution slowed the field on lap 22, when Frank Rusnock spun in turn two.   Kissinger brought the field back up to speed on the restart.  Beamer went to the pits, moving Bittner up to second with Prettyleaf in third, seventh place starter Garrett Bard restarted in fourth and Tylor Cochran moved into the top five. At the finish, Kissinger held off Bittner, Prettyleaf, Bard and Cochran.  Sixth though tenth were Dale Schweikart, Matt Tebbs, Jeffrey Weaver, Neil Petock, and Josh Fox.  Heat races were won by Bard, Smith, and Kissinger.

Chris Transeau of Abbottstown and Travis McClelland of Littlestown started on the front row of the 20 lap Central PA Legends 20 lap feature event.  McClelland took the top spot at the drop of the green flag.   Transeau ran in second with Bob Stough ran in the third spot.  Following a series of cautions on laps two and three, McClelland executed perfect restarts to keep Transeau and Stough behind him. At the halfway point of the event, the top three remained unchanged as Keegan McGrew and Bryan Wagaman completed the top five.  On lap number 12, the top three cars began to encounter lapped traffic.   In the closing laps, Transeau and Stough tried everything they had to get around McClelland but couldn’t make a pass before the checkered flag.  “I know they were both there,” said McClelland in victory lane. “It was a hard-fought battle, but it was exciting.  The track was great.” The top five included McClelland, Transeau, Stough, Choya Young and Logan Carbaugh. Sixth through tenth were Tyler Kaylor, Justin Wagaman, Rick Hartwig, Cory Phillips, and Chad Ernest.  Heat races were won by McClelland, Stough and Transeau.

Hunter Zimmerman and Mac Wert lead the field of 270 Micro Sprints to the green flag.  Zimmerman quickly took command of the field with Cory Stabley, Timmy Bittner, Jeffrey Weaver and Bobby Sanso in the top five.  Weaver moved into second on lap number six, but Zimmerman had established a half of a straight-away lead over the rest of the field.  Weaver was gaining on Zimmerman, who appeared to be on way to securing his first career win at the speedway.  However, misfortune stuck on lap number nine, when Zimmerman’s car stopped on the front stretch, giving the lead to Weaver.  Weaver restarted the race with Stabley, Bittner, Sanso and Brayden Spencer in the top five.   Weaver raced to the finish to secure the win.  Bobby Sanso was second, Spencer third, Wert was fourth, and Stabley completed the top five.  Sixth through tenth were Bittner, Skeetz Hockenbrock, Logan Hammaker, Jim Barkey and Evan Dickey.  Heat races were won by Weaver and Spencer. 

In 600 Micro Sprint competition, Cody Hauck led up to the halfway mark.  Johnny Smith, who started fourth made a pass for the lead with Hauck, Sierra Hauck, Trevor Teats and Mikey Smith running in the top five.  Mikey Smith brought out the events only yellow on lap number 10 when his car stopped on the front stretch.  Smith held off the challenge of Hauck to claim the victory.  Teats finished third, with Weaver and S. Hauck completing the top five.  Smith also won the heat race.

Hunter Flook started on the front row of the Four Cylinder main event.  On lap number five, Flook led Zak Kline, Andrew Rickets, Blake Snyder and Anthony Potter.  Snyder brough out the caution on lap number 6 to regroup the field for the restart.   Rickets moved into second on lap number seven as Shawn Stahl moved into the top five.   Following a lap nine restart, Flook, Rickets, Stahl, Chloe Smith and Coty Maines were running in the top five.   Flook crossed the line first, but failed post-race inspection, giving Stahl the win.  Cody Maines was second, followed by Bryun Hackenberg, Joey Snook and Donald Wynn.  Sixth through tenth were Zak Kline, Troy Bennett, Adam Harris, Anthony Potter, and Summer Beachel.  Heats were won by Smith, Snyder and Potter.

The Clinton County Speedway will feature a four division show this coming Friday, July 22^nd featuring the Limited Late Models, Pro Stocks, 270 Micros, and the 4 Cylinders presented by Bill’s Happy Camper. Mill Hall, PA – Chuck Hebing of Ontario, NY made history on Friday night by winning the United Racing Club’s (URC) 360 Sprint Car main event on Friday night. The URC Sprint Cars are celebrating their 75th anniversary, but this was the first time have ever visited Clinton County Speedway. The last 360 Sprint car race was ironically won by Hebing back in 2018 with the Patriot Sprint Tour. Other winners of the night included Logan Hammaker in the 270 Micro Sprints, Johnny Bouse in the Pro Stocks, and Larry Beachel in the 4 Cylinders.

Chuck Hebing and Josh Weller of Mertztown started on the front row of the 25-lap main event. Weller quickly took the lead as Andy Best and Ryan Smith battled for second and Hebing fell back to fourth. Smith took the runner up position on lap number four, followed by Weller, Hebing, Best and Jason Shultz in the top five.

Weller and Smith combatted for the lead with Smith making the pass on lap number seven. Smith, who is the defending PA Sprint Car Shootout 410 winner, led Weller, Hebing, Best and Johnny Smith of Scranton. By lap 14 the leaders began to encounter lapped traffic. Some mid race cautions bunched the field up on Smith’s back bumper, but he was able to hold off the challenges of Weller and Hebing. On lap 16, Hebing moved into the runner up spot. Two laps later, he passed Smith for the lead, as ninth place starter Jason Schultz moved into third.

The top three with all in contention for the win in an epic battle for the historical victory at Clinton County. Hebing held off the challenges to put his name in the record books. Smith finished second, Schultz was third, Josh Weller was fourth and Johnny Smith completed the top five. Sixth through tenth were Tylor Cochran, Mike Thompson, Timmy Bittner, Andy Best and Dallas Schott. Heat races were won by Ryan Smith, Weller and Best.

Hughesville’s Johnny Bouse started on the pole position for the Pro Stock main event. Bouse and Selinsgrove’s Cory Long ran first and second, as point leader Brandon Moser ran in third. Mechanical issues developed for Moser as he took his car to the pit area on lap number six. Bouse continued to lead Long, as Noah Kissinger moved into third. Bouse led every lap to record his first win of the season, his 7th career win at the 1/3 mile. Long finished second but failed post-race inspection. Noah Kissinger was credited with second, followed by Gary Mellott, Kris Orwig, and Todd Geyer. Heat races were won by Bouse and Moser.

Logan Hammaker led the first circuit of the 270 Micro Sprint feature. By lap number five, Hammaker led Tom Quiggle, Cory Stabley, Tyler Clowes and Timmy Bittner. Back-to-back cautions on laps nine and ten slowed the field and allowed the top runners and shot at passing Hammaker. Hammaker executed perfect restarts to race to the checkers for his first career victory. Quiggle finished second, Stabley was third. Brayden Spencer advanced from the eighth position to finish fourth and Timmy Bittner completed the top five. Sixth through tenth were Cody Seigel, Clowes. Brayden Kuhn, Hunter Zimmerman and Jillian Mower.

Larry Beachel and Hunter Flook led the field of 4 Cylinders for the start of the race. Beachel took the lead with Flook and Zak Kline in the top three. On lap number two, Flook took his car to the pit area. On lap number 5 Beachel led Kline, Anthony Potter, Blake Snyder and Chloe Smith. Potter took the second spot on lap number six. Beachel led every lap of the event to secure this first career victory. Potter was second, Snyder was third, Smith was fourth and Coty Maines finished fifth. Sixth through tenth were Kyler Stahl, Joey Snook, Andrew Ricketts, Michael Barrett, and Donald Wynn.
The Clinton County Speedway will feature a five division show this coming Friday, July 15th featuring the RaceSaver Sprints Cars, Central PA Legends, 270 Micros, 600 Micros and the 4 Cylinders. Gates will open at 5PM, Hot Laps are at 7PM and Racing begins at 7:30. General Admission is just $12.

Mill Hall, PA – FRIDAY NIGHT Ryan Kissinger won the Friday night preliminary event of a two day show claiming the inaugural Founders’ Cup honoring speedway founders Del Shank and Teddy Reitz. Tommy Dawson won the Pro Stocks, Timmy Bittner won the 270s Micros, JT Ferry won the 600 Micros and Blake Snyder won the 4 Cylinders.

Thirty-five RaceSaver Sprint cars signed in for competition for the Founders’ Cup. Dakota Schweikart and Steve Kenawell Jr. started on the front row for the 25 lap event. Kenawell took the early lead with Schweikart running in second. By lap number five, Kenawell led Schweikart, Kissinger, Ken Duke Jr, and Garrett Bard. The event’s only caution occurred when Daryl Stimeling and Mike Melair tangled entering turn number one after the completion of lap number 5.
By lap number seven, Kissinger managed to pass Schweikart, as Bard took fourth away from Duke. Kenawell and Kissinger were in a fierce battled as they weaved through lapped traffic. Kenawell continued to hold off the challenges from Kissinger until lap 14 when Kissinger made the winning pass. On lap number 15, the top three consisting of Kissinger, Kenawell and Bard were all in contention for the win. All three drivers were running different grooves around the speedway looking for any advantage to capture the Founders’ Cup. Kissinger navigated lapped traffic to secure his third win of the season, over Kenawell, Bard, Duke and Matt Tebbs. Sixth through tenth were Dakota Schweikart, Josh Beamer, Timmy Bittner, Zach Rhoades and Austin Reed. Heat races were won by Kenawell, Schweikart, Rhoades and Scott Lutz. The B-main was won by Tylor Cochran.

Kris Orwig led the first two laps of the Pro Stock main event, until 4th place starter Tommy Dawson took over the top spot. Dawson was being chased by pole sitter Gary Mellott. At the race’s midway point Dawson led Mellott, Rich Fye, Noah Jenson, and Brandon Moser. On lap number 13, Jensen passed Fye for the third spot. At the finish it was Dawson securing his 7th career victory at the speedway over Mellott, Jensen, Fye and Moser. Sixth through tenth were Noah Kissinger, Robert Tressler, Brad Benton, Cory Long and Orwig. Heat races were won by Jenson and Dawson.

Polesitter Logan Hammaker brought the field to the green flag for the 270 Micro Sprint feature. Hammaker was challenged by Nick Weitzel and Timmy Bitner. Bittner took the runner up postion on lap number 5. At the midway point, Hammaker led Bittner, Whitesel, Tom Quiggle and Skeetz Hockenbrock. With three laps remaining, Bittner made a pass for the lead. Whitesel also got around Hammaker on the final lap. Bittner secured the win over Whitesel, Hammaker, Hockenbrock and Mac Wert. Sixth through tenth were Gary Keister, Zachary Glass, Jillian Maurer, Evan Dickey and Kyler Stahl.

JT Ferry started on the pole for the 600 Micro Sprint feature event. He quickly took the lead with Cody Hauck and Sierra Hauck running in the top three. By lap number five, Ferry led C. Hauck, S. Hauck, Mikey Smith and Trevor Teats. Hauck closed in on Ferry on several occasions but couldn’t get by the youngster until the white flag lap. Hauck made a pass for the lead as the top exited turn two. As they entered turn three, Ferry drove in low and put a slide job on Hauck to reclaim the lead exiting turn number four. Third was Sierra Hauck, followed by Smith and Teats. Jeffrey Weaver was fourth, Maverick Coffey seventh and Timmy Bittner was eighth.

In the Four Cylinder division, fourth place starter Shawn Stahl lead the race until lap number six. Blake Snyder, who started seventh led lap number six. Stahl reclaimed the lead the one lap later with Snyder back out in front on lap number eight. Snyder held on for the victory over Stahl and Tim Raup. Stahl and Raup failed post-race inspections. Anthony Potter was credited by second followed by Chris Small, Ryan Unger, Andrew Rickets, Chole Smith, Joe May, Donald Wynn, Tyler Stahl and Troy Bennett.

SATURDAY NIGHT
A record 36 sprint cars signed in for RaceSaver Sprint Car competition during the 3rd annual Nittany 40 on Saturday. Time trails determined the heat race starting positions, with Johnny Smith setting fast time in flight A and Dominic Melair setting fast time in flight B. Heat races were won by Austin Reed, Josh Beamer, Domanic Melair and Ryan Kissinger. Austin Greenland won the B-Main.

Jeffrey Weaver and Austin Reed started on the front row of the 40 lap Nittany 40. On the initial start the red flag came out when Greenland and Ken Duke tangled on the front stretch with Greenland’s car rolling over. With a complete restart, Reed quickly took the lead with Weaver, Johnny Smith, Garret Bard and Ryan Kissinger in the top five.

On lap number 8, Johnny Smith moved into the second spot with Weaver maintaining third. By lap 10, the leaders began to encounter lapped traffic. Garrett Bard, who started fourth, passed Weaver on lap number 14. The top three raced through lapped traffic. Bard closed in on Smith and took second place on lap 17 and set his sites on Reed. At the halfway point of the race, Reed continued to lead with Bard in a close second followed by Smith, Weaver and Matt Tebbs. The top three were in close contention and as they battled through lapped traffic. Bard continued to pressure Reed with Smith running a close third.

Bard made a pass on lap 39 in turns one and two, but the lap was not scored complete as a two car incident brought out the caution. The cation gave Reed the break he needed and allow him to restart the race in front of Bard. He led the final lap to claim the victory over Bard, Tylor Cochran was a late charger in the race as he took third with 7 laps remaining after starting eleventh. Fourth and fifth were Kissinger and Weaver. Sixth through tenth were Ken Duke Jr. Dakota Schweikart, Josh Beamer, Mike Alleman and Matt Tebbs.
Jeffrey Weaver drew the pole postion for the 270 Micro Nationals alongside Timmy Bittner. Weaver led the opening lap over Bittner and Tyler Clowes, Corey Stabley moved into the third spot by lap number four. Weaver and Bittner continued to battle as the field encountered lapped traffic by lap number 11. Weaver and Bittner remained first and second throughout the entire race. Cory Stabley finished third, Clowes was fourth and Shawn Musser was fifth. Sixth through tenth were Zachary Glass, Skeetz Hockenbrock, Evan Dickey, Jillian Maurer and Mathew Dixson

Noah Kissinger and Rich Fye led the field of Pro Stocks to the green flag. Fye took the lead by the first circuit with Cory Long moving into second place. At the midway point, Fye lead Long, Tommy Dawson, Brandon Moser and Noah Jensen. Jensen took the third place on lap number 14. Fye lead every lap of the nonstop feature event, claiming his seventh career victory. The win occurred over Corey Long, Jenson, Moser and Kissinger. Sixth through tenth were Dawson, Robert Tressler, Todd Geyer and Tom Dawson Sr.
In the 4-Cylinders Shawn Stahl lead all 12 laps to claim the main event. Larry Beacher ran second for the majority of the race, but was passed by Coty Maines with one lap remaining. Stahl earned the victory over Maines, Blake Snyder, Larry Beacher and Matt Weaver.

Mill Hall, PA – Ryan Kissinger claimed his second victory of the season on Friday night at the Clinton County Speedway in the RaceSaver Sprint Car division. Brandon Moser won the Pro Stocks, Timmy Bitter won the 270 Micros, Johnny Smith won the 600 Micros and Coty Maines was the winner of the Four Cylinders.

Ryan Kissinger drew the pole postion for the night’s 25 lap main event. He quickly took the lead over second place starter, Tylor Cochran. By lap number five, Kissinger had caught the tail of field, with Cochran, Erick Knopp, Jeffrey Weaver, and Dale Schweikart running in the top five. Kissing weaved his way through traffic utilizing both the high and low grooves of the speedway. A caution occurred on lap number eleven involving two cars. Following the restart, Kissinger continued to lead Cochran as Weaver moved into the third spot.

On lap number 17, Johnny Smith moved into fourth and Josh Beamer moved into the top five. Kissinger maneuvered though the lapped traffic to claim the victory over Cochran, Weaver, Beamer, and Smith. Sixth through tenth were Dale Schweikart, Dustin Prettyleaf, Logan Jones, Dakota Schweikart, and Daryl Stimeling. Heat races for the 28 sprinters were won by Jeffrey Weaver, Reed Thompson, Jared Zionkowski and Logan Jones.

After taking the checkered flag in the third heat race, Jared Zionkowski stopped in turn two after his car erupted in flames. Zionkowski’s car had a fuel leak, which caught fire. Emergency personnel put the fire out, but Zionkowski received burns and was taken to the Leigh Valley Hospital’s Burn Center. He was released the next day and he reports he will be sore for a while; however, he plans to be back racing later this year.

Front row starter, Gary Mellott led the opening laps of the Pro Stock feature event. Fifth place starter Brandon Moser moved into the runner up position with Rich Fye, Robert Tressler and AY Schilling in the top five. On lap number eight, Moser passed Mellot for the lead, as Tressler moved into third. The feature went nonstop, with Moser leading the remaining laps for the victory. Mellott finished second, Tressler was third, AY Schilling was fourth and Fye was fifth. Sixth through tenth were Cory Long, Noah Kissinger, Marc Bitler, Todd Geyer, and Mike Gray. Heats were won by Long and Mellott

Fourth place starter, Timmy Bitter led the first lap of the 270 Micro Sprint feature. On lap number five, Bitter was being challenged by Jeffrey Weaver and Cody Siegel. On lap number six, Jeff Haefake moved into fourth. Bitter led every lap, to claim the win over Weaver, Seigel, Haefake and Nick Whitesel. Sixth through tenth were Logan Hammaker, Skeetz Hockenbrock, Mac Wert, Luke Hess, and Tyler Groft. Heat races were won by Weaver and Siegel.

In the 600 Micro Sprints, the Smith brothers Johnny Smith and Mikey Smith battled for the lead at the drop of the green flag. By lap number five, Johnny led Mikey as Brain Kramer ran third followed by Timmy Bittner and Jeffrey Weaver. On lap number 10 Weaver moved up to fourth and Preston Brown moved up to fifth. The event went nonstop with the Smith brothers putting on an exciting race. At the end it was Johnny Smith over Mikey Smith, Kramer was third, Brown finished fourth and Weaver was fifth. Sixth through tenth were Bittner, Trevor Teats, Sierra Hauck, Mitchell Holden, and James Thomas. Heats were won by J. Smith and Sierra Hauck.

John Baney led the first three laps of the 4 Cylinder main event. Coty Maines challenged Baney and took the lead on lap number four. Following a restart on lap number six, Blake Snyder wrestled the top spot from Maines. The leaders began to encounter lapped traffic on lap number ten, with Snyder leading Maines, Joey Snook, Adam Harris and Anthony Potter. The top five remained unchanged at the finish, however, Snyder failed a post-race inspection giving Maines the win. Snook was second followed by Harris Potter and Keith Haagen. Sixth through tenth were Andrew Rickets, Chloe Smith, Bryun Hackenberg, Matt Weaver and Brett Shirk. Heat races were won by John Baney, Hunter Flook, and Tim Muthler.

The Clinton County Speedway returns this Friday and Saturday night with a big 2 day show. On Friday night the Race Saver Sprint Cars will compete in the “Founders Cup” honoring founding speedway promoters Tedd Reitz and Del Shank. The winner of the event will be a guaranteed starter for Saturday’s event. In addition to the sprints, will be the Pro Stocks, the 270 Micros, 600 Micros and the 4 Cylinders. The 270 winner will also be guaranteed a starting spot for Saturday’s event. Friday Gates will open at 5PM, Racing at 7PM.

On Saturday night, NAPA/Toner Auto Parts will present the Nittany 40 for the RaceSaver Sprints, paying $1,000 to win and $400 to start. It is the biggest event of the season for the RaceSaver Sprints. The 270 Micro Sprints will also be competing in a $1,000 to win event. The Pro Stock and 4 Cylinders and a fireworks show will be included during the night. Gates on Saturday will open at 4PM with Racing at 6PM.

Yoder Takes Top Honors at Clinton County Speedway

Mill Hall, PA – Jim Yoder of Selinsgrove secured his 17th career victory at the Clinton County Speedway on Friday night. AY Schilling of Linden won the Pro Stocks, Cody Seigel won the 270 Micro Sprints, Travis McClelland won the Central PA Legends and Scott Englert won the 4 Cylinders.

Tim Luben of Mill Hall and Bellefonte’s JR Toner led the field of Limited Late Models to the start of the 25 lap main event. Toner quickly grabbed the lead with Jeremy Ohl and Nick Loffredo running second and third. Loffredo took the second spot by the completion of lap number three. Jim Yoder, who started fifth moved into the third spot on lap number four and took the second spot by the sixth circuit. Yoder closed in on Toner and took the lead by the completion of lap number 8, as eighth place starter Ben Whitaker began to work his way toward the front from his eighth place starting spot.

At the midway point, Yoder led Toner, Whitaker, Loffredo and Dan Zechman. Toner and Whitaker battled for the runner up post, with Whitaker taking second on lap number 13. Toner reclaimed the second spot on lap number 16. Yoder began to encounter lapped traffic on lap number 21, with Toner, Whitaker, Zechman and Joe Lusk now in the top five. In the final laps, Yoder had a sizeable lead and held on for the win over Toner and Whitaker. Lusk secured the fourth spot and Zechman finished fifth. Matt Cochran was sixth, Loffredo was seventh, Ohl was eighth, Maddox Smith was ninth and Denny Fourney finished tenth. Heat races were won by Ohl and Toner.

In the Pro Stock feature, Rich Fye of Lock Haven and Noah Kissinger brought the field to the green flag. Fye led the first three circuits before fourth place starter Cory Long of Selinsgrove took the lead. AY Schilling of Linden moved into second on lap number five, while Fye was third followed by Noah Jensen and Kissinger. On lap number 7, Long spun in turn two allowing Schilling to take the lead. Following the restart, Jensen moved into second place and tried to chase down Schilling. Schilling claimed the win over Jensen, Fye, Brandon Moser and Kissinger. Sixth through tenth were Kris Orwig, Long, Todd Geyer and Austin Hulsizer. Heats were won by Moser and Kissinger.

Logan Hammaker and Mac Wert started on the front row of the 270 Micro Sprint feature. By the completion of lap number one, sixth place starter Cody Siegel found his way to the front. Two laps later, the caution flag waved for a 2-car incident in turn number four. Track official called Siegel for a jump on the initial start and put him back two places for the restart, giving the lead to Logan Hammaker. Hammaker led until lap number 7, when Siegel regained the top spot. Nick Whitesel worked his way up from the seventh position into second place by lap number eight, as Cory Stabley, Shawn Musser and Hammaker were running the top five. Siegel had a strong car all night and went on to claim his first win of the year. Whitesel was second followed by Hammaker, Stabley and Musser. Sixth through tenth were Bobby Sanso, Mac Wert, Evan Dickey, Hunter Zimmerman and Jeffrey Weaver. Heats were won by Sigel and Weaver.

The Central PA Legends made their first return to the speedway since 2010. Choya Young and Scott Houdeshell led the field to the start. Houdeshell took command of the field, as the Legends raced into turns one and two. By lap number five, Houdeshell maintained a lead while Bob Stough, Travis Mcclellern and Tyler Kaylor battled within the top five. On lap number eight, Mcclellern took over the runner up position. On lap number 14, Mcclellern made the winning pass around Houdeshell. The caution waved on the white flag lap, creating a last lap dash with the top five all in contention for the win. At the finish, Mcclellern was the victor over Houdeshell, Stough Young and Kaylor. Sixth through tenth were Scott Musselman, Zax Baxter, Reegan McGrew, Grady McGrew and Vincent Wenrich. Heats were won by McClelland and Chris Transau.

Tyler Stahl led the first lap of the four-cylinder feature event. Coty Maines took the top spot by lap number two. By lap number five, Maines lead Scott Englert, Stahl Anthony Potter and Zak Kline. Potter took the third spot on lap number seven. With two laps to go, Englert passed Maines for the lead. Maines tried to pass him back but came up short at the finish line. Following Englert and Maines was Zak Kline, Potter and Stahl. Sixth through tenth were Chloe Smith, Andrew Ricketts, Blake Snyder, Tim Muthler and Matt Weaver. Heat races were won by Smith and Hunter Flook.

The Clinton County Speedway will feature the RaceSaver Sprint cars next Friday presented by Werner Fuels. Also on the program will be the Pro Stocks, 270 Micros, 600 Micros and the Four Cylinders. Gates will open at 5PM and Racing begins at 7PM.

Friday’s race be the last tune up before the big two-day show coming up on July 1st and 2nd. The July 1 race will be the founders cup honoring speedway founders Tedd Reitz and Del Shank. Then on July 2nd, the Sprints will compete in the annual Nittany 40 paying $1,000 to win as well as the 270 Micro Nationals paying $1,000 to win. Pro Stocks and Four Cylinders will compete on both days and the 600 Micros will be part of the Friday Show. July 2nd will also feature fireworks.

Mill Hall, PA – The Smith family has been synonymous with Sprint Car racing at Clinton County for decades.  On Friday night, second generation driver Johnny Smith of Scranton, PA etched his name on the list of sprint car feature winners, a list that also includes his father, Jon Smith.  “There is just something about this place that we love,’ said Smith in victory lane. “I have memories of coming here as a kid to watch my dad race, we both have a soft spot for Clinton County.”  Smith has won in the 600 Micro Sprint division on numerous occasions; however, this win was extra special as it was his first career win in a full size sprint car.  “We have raced 305, 358, and 360 sprint cars, and this is our first win,” added an excited Smith.  

AJ Hoffman won the Pro Stocks, Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven won the 270 Micro Sprints, Timmy Bittern of Beech Creek won the 600 Micro Sprints and Hunter Flook of Avis the Four Cylinder feature. 

Jarrett Cavalet and Tylor Cochran led the full field of sprint cars to the green flap for the 25 lap main event.  Cochran led the first lap, with fourth place starter Johnny Smith running second, followed by Josh Beamer, Cavalet and Jeffrey Weaver.   Cochran and Smith were in a fierce battle for the lead until lap number five, when mechanical issues developed for Cochran and his car stopped on the front stretch.   Smith inherited the lead with Beamer, Cavalet, Weaver and Ken Duke Jr. restarting in the top five.   The only other caution of the event occurred on lap number 10, when Kyle Knoop’s car spun.   Smith once again brought the field back up to speed with Beamer and Cavalet trying to chase him down.  

By lap number 17, Smith began to encounter lapped traffic.  At times Beamer was able to get within half of a car length of Smith but was unable to execute a pass for the lead. Ryan Kissinger moved into the top five on lap number 23.   When the checkered flag waved it was Smith over Beamer, Jeffrey Weaver, Ryan Kissinger and Jarrett Cavalet.   Sixth through tenth were Ken Duke Jr, Dakota Schweikart, Timmy Bittner, Garret Bard and Scott Lutz.  Heat races were won by Jeffrey Weaver, Dakota Schweikart, Josh Beamer and Tylor Cochran.  The consolation was won by Logan Jones.

AJ Hoffman started on the pole of the Pro Stock feature event alongside Kris Orwig.  Orwig caused the caution on lap number two allowing Johnny Bouse to move into the runner up position followed by Chris Small, Robert Tressler and AJ Stroup.  Stroup and Tressler battled for fourth and fifth position, with Stroup taking the fourth position on lap number seven.   Hoffman continued to hold off Bouse until lap number 12, when Bouse took his car back into the pit area.   The restart had Hoffman leading Chris Small, Stroup, Robert Tressler, Brandon Moser.   The final laps the top five remained unchanged.  Sixth through tenth were Marc Bittler, Rich Fye, Orwig, Todd Geyer and Austin Hulsizer.  Heat races were won by Bouse and Stroup.

Logan Hammaker and Luke Hess started on the front row for the 270 Micro Sprint feature event.  Hammaker lead the opening laps, as seventh place starter charged to the front.  Weaver passed Hammaker as Ross Perchak advanced into third followed by Bobby Sanso and Timmy Bittner.   Perchak took over the second spot on lap number six and set his sights on Weaver.   Weaver entered lapped traffic on lap number nine.   Perchak tangled with a lapped car and brough the caution out on lap number 10.   Weaver cruised during the final laps to claim the win over Hammaker, Timmy Bittner, Perchak and Sanso.   Heat races were won by Weaver and Perchak.

Timmy Bittner started on the pole of the 600 Micro Sprint event.  On lap number two, second place runner Johnny Smith took his car to the pits.   Bittner led Trevor Teats and Derek Swartz.  Jeffrey Weaver moved into the third spot on lap number 5 as Teats fell back to fifth.   At the halfway mark, Bittner continued to lead Swartz, Weaver, Cody Hauck, and Teats. By lap number 12, Teats began to charge his way back to the front.  In the closing laps, Bittner had Swartz and Teats threatening to make a move.  Bittner found grip coming out of turn two, which gave him an advantage going down the back stretch.  In the end it was Bittner over Swartz, Teats, Weaver and Hauck.  Sierra Hauck was sixth followed by Holden, Mikey Smith, and Johnny Smith.  Heats were won by Mikey Smith and Bittner.  

In Four -Cylinder competition, Anthony Potter started on the outside of the front row and powered into the lead.      Sixth place starter Chris Small moved into the second spot by lap number four.  At the halfway mark, Potter led Small, Tim Muthler, Hunter Flook and Shawn Stahl.  A caution on lap nine bunched the field on Potter’s rear bumper.  Flook got a run on Potter and took the lead on lap number ten.  Shawn Stahl added his name into the mix and edged out Flook to lead lap number eleven.   Flook and Stahl raced hard into turns one and two, with Flook reclaiming the lead going down the back stretch.  Flook was the winner over Stahl, Sam Creveling, Chris Small and Terry Karichner.  Sixth through tenth were Tim Muthler, Anthony Potter, Nick Snook, Joey Snook and Matt Weaver.  Heat races were won by Potter, Keith Haagen and Scott Englert.

Mill Hall, PA – Matt Cochran of Williamsport won the Limited Late Model Feature winner at the Clinton County Speedway. AJ Stroup won the Pro Stocks; Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven won the 270 Micro Sprints and Hunter Flook of Avis won the four-cylinder main event.
Rookie driver Maddox Smith of Renovo and JR Toner of Bellefonte brought the field of Limited Late Models to the green flag in the Limited Late Model Feature. Toner led the first last with fourth place starter, Matt Cochran running second followed by Smith, Jeremy Ohl and Jim Yoder. Onlap number 7, Smith and Ohl tangled in turn number four to bring out the caution flag. While under the yellow, race leader, JR Toner went to the pit area with a flat tire. This provided Cochran the lead with Jim and Andrew Yoder now running in the top three. The caution came out on lap number 10 for a piece of debris on the speedway.

Cochran once again held off Jim Yoder on the restart. The remainder of the event ran caution free, as Cochran continued to lead the field, while Jim and Andrew Yoder battled for second and third positions. Cochran encountered lapped traffic on lap number eighteen. Cochran held on for the win over Jim Yoder, Andrew Yoder, Nick Loffredo and Len Stroud. Jr Toner was sixth, Jeremy Ohl was seventh, Maddox Smith was eighth, Levi Ardery and Kyle Strouse. Heats were won by Andrew Yoder and Maddox Smith.

AJ Stroup advanced from the fourth starting spot to lead the first lap of the Pro Stock main event. By lap number five, Stroup led AY Schiling, Robert Tressler, Denny Fourney and Brandon Moser. On lap number ten, three cars tangled while battling for fourth, fifth and sixth position involving Tressler, Moser and Johnny Bouse. Stroup held off the late race charges of AY Schilling to secure the win. Kris Owrig finished third, Todd Geyer was fourth and Jason Smith was fifth. Sixth through tenth were Mike Gray, Johnny Bouse, Ray Rothfuss , Mike Wright, and Cory Long. Heat races were won by Noah Kissinger and Moser.

Pole sitter Tyler Clowes led the first five laps of the 270 Micro Sprint feature. Sixth place starter Jeffrey Weaver worked his way to the front and passed Clowes by the completion of lap number six. The top two continued to run in that order for the remainder of the event with Shawn McAndrew finishing third followed by Bobby Sando and Cory Stabley. Sith through tenth were Shawn Musser, Mac Wert, Timmy Bittner, Tom Quiggle and Steve Fernberg. Heats were won by Bittner and Weaver.

Paul Young and Hunter Flook started on the front row of the 4 cylinder feature event. Young took the lead with Flook giving chase. By lap number five, Young and Flook lead Scott Englert, Donald Wynn and Joey Snook. A lap nine caution slowed the field. Young and Flook again battled for the lead, with Young crossing the start finish line first. However, Young’s car failed a post-race inspection, giving the win to Flook. Joey Snook was awarded second followed by Zak Kline, Donald Wynn and Matt Weaver. Sixth through tenth were Shawn Stahl, Chris Small, Tyler Stahl, Tim Muthler and Larry Spencer. Heat races were won by Shahl, Kline and Young.

Mill Hall, PA – Ryan Kissinger of Bloomsburg parked his #66 RaceSaver Sprint Car in victory lane at the Clinton County Speedway on Friday night. It was his first career win at the 3/8th mile oval. “I started working on sprint cars here at Clinton County and it was always a goal to race and win at this track,” said Kissinger in Victory Lane. Robert Tressler of Lock Haven won the Pro Stocks, Brayden Spencer of Berwick won the 270 Micro Sprints, Trevor Teats won the 600 Micro Sprints and Dylan Craft of Muncy Valley won the Four Cylinder division.

Kissinger and Kruz Kepner started on the front row of the Sprint Car main event. The duo raced wheel to wheel for several laps with Kissinger edging out Kepner at the start-finish line. The furious pace of the leaders was slowed on lap number six with a caution for Garret Bard who had just advanced into the top five.

The restart had Kissinger leading Kepner, Ryan Lynn, Jarrett Cavalet and Josh Beamer. Again, Kissinger and Kepner were in a fierce battle for the lead. On lap number eight, Kepner tried to slide past Kissinger but instead drifted high exiting turn two allowing Lynn and Cavalet to get by him.

The caution came out for a two-car accident on lap number 15 involving Austin Greenland and Reed Thompson. The restart found Kissinger leading, Lynn, Cavalet, Beamer and Kepner. Kissinger was fast using the high side around the speedway. Lynn kept pace with the leader as they entered into lapped traffic.
With two laps remaining, the red flag came out when Mike Allman’s car flipped on the back stretch. Allman was okay. Kissinger again executed a flawless restart for the two-lap run to the checkers dash. As he exited turn number four the caution came out again for a spin, creating a one lap dash to the finish. Kissinger led the final lap to claim his first win of the season. Lynn finished second, Cavalet was third, Beamer was fourth and Daryl Stimeling took the fifth spot on the last lap. Sixth through tenth were Kepner, Dakota Schweikart, Dale Schweikart, Scott Lutz and John Smith. Qualification races for the 29 sprint cars included Kepner, Kissinger, and Beamer with Reed Thompson winning the B-Main.

Todd Geyer and Gary Mellot led the field of Pro Stocks to the green flap, by the completion of lap number one, Robert Tressler was out in front. Defending track champion, Brandon Moser quickly advanced from the seventh spot to move into second place. On several occasions Moser would try to dive under Tressler, but Tressler kept his momentum by utilizing the outside groove. Tommy Dawson moved into the third position, while Geyer and Chris Long battled for fourth and fifth. The leaders began to encounter lapped traffic with fourth laps remaining. In the closing laps, Moser continued to pressure Tressler, but couldn’t find enough speed to make the pass. The event went non-stop with Tressler securing the win over Moser, Dawson, Long, and Geyer. Sixth through tenth were Noah Jensen, AJ Hoffman, Gary Mellott, Brett Gordner, and Noah Kissinger. Heat races were won by Moser and Tressler

In the 270 Micro Sprint feature, several cars tangled on the opening lap with one car rolling over, to bring out the red flap. With a complete restart, Brayden Spencer quickly moved to the front of the field passing Jeffrey Weaver going down the back stretch. Once out in front, Spencer was able to open up a sizable lead over Weaver as the race went non-stop. Ninth place starter Cody Seigel advanced into third followed by Shawn Musser and Timmy Bittner. By lap number nine, Spencer began to encounter lapped traffic which allowed Weaver to close in slightly. But Spencer maintained his lead, winning by .429 seconds over Weaver, Seigel, Bittner and Musser. Sixth through tenth were Michael Petock, Cory Stabley, Bobby Sanso, Hunter Zimmerman and Matt Dixon. Heat races were won by Stabley and Weaver

Mason Peters and Jeffrey Weaver were the front row starters for the 600 Micro Sprint A-Main. Weaver led the first two circuits before fourth place starter Trevor Teats powered into the lead. The race went non-stop for all 15 laps. Once in front Teats was being chased by Weaver and Timmy Bittner. Cody Hauck and Mikey Smith battled for the fifth spot. Teats continued to click through the laps to earn his first feature win of the year. Weaver maintained second followed by Bittern, Smith and Hauck. Sixth through tenth were Dreck Swartz, Mason Peters, Sierra Hauck, Tristan Hoffman, and Dexter Strawser. Heat races were won by Smith and Cody Hauck.

Paul Young and Coty Maines led the field of four-cylinders to the start. Fourth place starter Hunter Flook claimed the lead by the completion of the first circuit. Flook, Maines, and Dylan Craft began to encounter lapped traffic by lap number five. On lap number six, Nick Snook crashed hard into the turn one fence. The driver was uninjured. Flook would lead the next several laps with Craft and Maines right on this bumper. Feeling the pressure, Flook tried to pass a lapped car but the two collied exiting turn two. The damage forced Flook to stop on the track with a bent right front rim. Craft inherited the lead with two laps remain with Maines and Shawn Wise now in contention. Craft led the final laps picking up the win over Maines, Wise, Scott Englert and Andrew Ricketts. Sixth through tenth were Joey Snook, Donald Wynn, Cody Beaver, Tim Muthler and Chole Smith. Heat races were won by Maines, Flook and Young. The consolation race was won by Matt Weaver.

Mill Hall, PA – Clinton County Speedway successfully brought 410 Sprint Car racing back to the 3/8th mile oval for the first time in over a decade in 2021. This year, with much anticipation from fans and drivers, the 410s will return on Saturday, August 13th, presented by NAPA/Toner Auto Parts.
This year’s 410 race will be named in honor of the speedway’s all-time 410 sprint car feature winner, Phil Walter of McClure, PA. Walter was the 1993 division champion and has 29 victories at the speedway. Walter’s first career win at Clinton County came on May 12, 1989. He earned four wins during the Speedway’s inaugural season in 1989.

“Walter was one of the original stars of the Clinton County Speedway,” says speedway promoter Jason McCahan. “We are thrilled to honor Phil Walter and his accomplishments, especially for what he has done for sprint car racing at Clinton County Speedway. Because we are honoring Phil Walter and his familiar #63, we are working hard to make this a $6,300 to win race.”

Walter had 93 career starts over eleven seasons and had a 31% winning average. He was a three-time winner of the Ed Shafer Memorial and a two-time winner of the Syracuse Qualifier.

“Clinton County Speedway has always had a special place in my heart,” said Walter. “I have many great memories of the time that I spent racing there. We were very fortunate to win some races and enjoy some success that made it possible for us to continue racing.”

During Walter’s career at Clinton County, he drove for various cars owners. He raced his own #63 for the first season at the speedway. During his career, he piloted cars for Dan Dietrich, Gene Jenkins, Carl Fry, Joe Watts, Lenny Krautheim, Selinsgrove Ford, Frank Anfuso, Gary Kratzer and Gary Ritter.

His most successful season at Clinton County Speedway was in 1993, while driving the #55 for Gene Jenkins. He won 10 of 15 races that season, claiming 6 wins in a row. He won the Syracuse Qualifier and the Speedway’s Championship.

“The Clinton County Speedway is a driver’s track,” adds Walter. “It is not about money or horsepower, but more about handling and driving. This creates good close and exciting racing for both the spectators and the competitors.”

“Last year, the 410-race paid $4,000 and $400 to start, with Ryan Smith claiming the victory in an exciting race,” added McCahan. “We want to make this event memorable for Phil and his family, our drivers and our fans.
