Feathers Claims Fall Clash at Clinton County Speedway
Mill Hall; PA – Trever Feathers of Winchester, VA earned the $5,000 paycheck during the Fall Clash for the Super Late Models on Saturday during the season finale at the Clinton County Speedway. Owen Dimm of Mifflintown won the River Valley Builders RaceSaver Sprint Cars. AJ Hoffner of East Berlin won the 4-Cylinder feature event.
Dylan Yoder of Middleburg and Trever Feathers brought the full field of Super Late Models to the green flag for the start of the 40-lap Fall Clash. Yoder led the first lap, but Feathers took the top spot by the completion of lap number two. The events first caution occurred on lap number 8 for Tristin Neiderer. The field raced back to green with Feathers leading, Yoder and Mason Ziegler of Chalk Hill by the completion of lap number 10.
A multi-car incident in turn numbers one and two slowed the field once again on lap number 21. Feathers was quick on the gas with Yoder and Ziegler in tow. Two laps later, mechanical issues slowed the second-place car of Yoder forcing him to take his car to the pit area. The lap 24 restart included Feathers leading Ziegler, Dylan Cecce of Avis, Bryan Bernheisel of Jonestown and Ross Robinson of Georgetown, DE
.
The leaders worked their way through lapped traffic with Feathers leading Ziegler and Cecee. A lap 30 caution slowed the field one final time and gave Feathers an open track while Ziegler, Cecee, Bernheisel and Robinson rounded out the top five. Feathers led the final 10 laps to claim the win over Ziegler, Cecee, Bernheisel and Robinson. Sixth through tenth were Spoke Moore, Trevor Collins, JR Toner, Chad Homan and Demetrios Drellos.
John Walp and Owen Dimm led the field of RaceSaver Sprint cars for the start of their 30-lap main event. Dimm took the lead at the drop of the green flag. A lap two incident occurred when Austin Greenland and Jim Kennedy tangled in turns one and two. By lap number five, Dimm was leading Walp, Christian Rumsey, Jacob Gomola and Jeff Weaver Jr. On lap number 9, Rumsey passed Walp for the second position. On lap 13, the red flag waived when the eighth-place car of Steve Kenawell caught on fire in turn number four. Kenawell was transported to the Lock Haven Hospital then transferred to the Lehigh Valley Burn Center for treatment.
Dimm brought the field back to action. Weaver took over the second postion from Rumsey on lap number 15. With five laps remaining, Dimm continued to pace the field with Weaver, Rumsey, Gomola in Walp running in the top five. On lap number 26, Timmy Bittner, who started 22nd raced this way into the top five. Dimm held on to lead the final laps to claim his first win of the season at the 1/3-mile oval. Weaver, Rumsey, Bittner and Kolby Weaver completed the top five. Sixth through tenth were Walp, Gomola, Jared Zionkowski, Jim Pattock and Cole Dewease.
Bruce Betres and Steven Jacobs started on the front row for the 20-lap 4-Cylinder feature event. By the completion of lap number one, third place starter Ken Smith was in the lead. Jesse Manety, who started fourth took the lead on lap number four. Another lead change occurred on lap number six, when Hunter Flook passed Manety. The caution flag slowed the field for a caution on lap number eight. As Flook brought the field back to the green flag, sixth place starter AJ Hoffman challenged Flook for the lead postion. Hoffner crossed the line first with Matney back into second and Flook falling back to third place. On lap number 15, Brett Hanley raced this way into the third position. When the checkered flag waved, Hoffner was the winner over Hanley, Allen Robison, Justin Williamson and Steven Jacobs.
