RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion does not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.
Anything not covered in these rules will be up to the discretion of the tech or track officials, without competition until they have been corrected. The preceding rules are subject to revision and will be judged accordingly. UNLESS THE RULES SAY YOU CAN – DON’T!!

2-stroke 250 cc engines – 16.4754 cu.in. (or 270cc) or 450cc 4-stroke stock bore & stroke. Carburetors only; 450cc 4-stroke engines may use fuel injection with OEM throttle body modified for use with alcohol.
Must be chain driven, belt driven cars will not be permitted, Chain guard mandatory. Centrifugal clutches will not be permitted.
Kill switch must be functional, clearly marked and accessible to the driver. Body and Chassis:
All cars should be constructed to look like Micro Sprints. All cars must be equipped with complete body parts: hood, tail, side panels, belly pan, etc. Sharp, pointed edges or objects (excluding wings) will not be tolerated in cars.
Roll cages must be attached to the frame (minimum of six points). Must be weld gusseted. Minimum 1¼” OD tubing. Must be 4130 chrome moly. Complete frame .065 minimum. 1″ tubing may be used if wall thickness is at least .083.
With driver seated in the car, there must be two inches of clearance between the driver’s helmet and the upper roll bar.
All cars must be equipped with nerf bars and bumpers. Nerf bar must extend to at least the middle of the tire, but not beyond the outside of the tire.
Firewall: All cars must be equipped with a firewall between the driver and the engine compartment. Minimum thickness specs are: Steel 24 gauge (0.0239 inches), Aluminum 0.050 inches, Fiberglass or plastic 0.095 inches.
The floor pan must come to just rear of the front axle or tie rod to the front edge of the driver’s seat.
The belly pan must extend from the front of the seat to the nose of the vehicle.
The steering mechanism must be constructed of a minimum of 5/8″ rod and 3/8″ heim ends. All steering and suspension parts that are bolted together must use locking nuts, safety wire or cotter pins.
All wet cell batteries mounted in the cockpit must be covered and vented out of the cockpit area.
Wheelbase must be 56″ minimum and 72″ maximum. Car width should not exceed 58″ (sidewall to sidewall).
A rear fuel cell with bladder is recommended, alcohol and oil mix only, no additives. Must have accessible fuel shut off valve clearly marked.
Minimum weight of car and driver – 600 pounds. All added weight must be painted in white and have your car number on it. All added weight must be bolted with washers and lock nuts to the car structure. No liquid or loose ballast will be permitted.
Top Wing: Center air foil cannot exceed 12 sq. ft. (1728 sq. in.) of surface area. Surface area is defined by the length x width of the flat plane of the largest projection of the center foil. Top Wing must not extend beyond outside of rear tires or behind the rear bumper. Only two side panels allowed. Maximum of 2” deep side panel, this is the protrusion of the stiffening members not including the struts (tubular or flat bar bracing). Side panels must not obstruct the view of the driver and cannot extend past the center section by more than 10 inches, front or back.
Front wings are optional.
Seat belts must be 3″ wide, 5 point approved racing harness, no more than 5 yrs. old. Helmet and approved full face shield required. Approved fire suit mandatory; (NOMEX underwear, head sock, two-layer suit is highly recommended). Arm restraints, neck collar, “Hans” or similar restraint, and racing gloves must be worn at all times. Aluminum or Carbon Fiber high-backed racing seat is mandatory.
Transponders are mandatory. Mounting location is to be on the right side panel at a distance of 21 inches from the centerline of the front axle to the centerline of the transponder. Recommended height is 6 inches from the ground.
Note – these rules are subject to change during the racing season. The officials’ interpretation of these rules is FINAL. Variations from any specification or rule must be approved by the speedway tech officials. All cars are subject to technical inspection at any time. Refusal to allow technical inspection may result in disqualification and loss of points and prize money for that event.
