Mill Hall, PA – Jeffrey Weaver and Robert Tressler, both from Lock Haven were victorious at the Clinton County Speedway on Friday night in the 270 and Pro Stock divisions, respectively.   Mother Nature then claimed the remaining three feature events of the night for the 600 Micro Sprints, RaceSaver Sprints, and the four-cylinder divisions. 

Aidan Adams and Denny Rinehimer lead the full field of 270 Micro Sprints to the green flag of their 15 lap main event.   Rinehimer led the first circuit with sixth place starter Bobby Sanso in second followed by Adams and Dan Wertman. 

Sanso pressured Rinehimer for the lead but was unable to make the pass for the lead.  Meanwhile, Weaver, who started in 10^th was charging towards the front of the field.   On lap number 7, the red flag waved when Tom Quiggle rolled his car onto its side.  Quiggle was ok and able to restart the race.   With the restart, Rinehimer led Sanso, Weaver Adams, and Timmy Bittner as the top five competitors.   On lap number ten Weaver made a bid for the runner up position and was able to pass Sanso.  With two laps remaining, Rinehimer appeared to have the stronger car, but misfortune struck as the cars entered turn three.  Something mechanical failed on Rinehimer’s cars causing him to slow coming through turns 3 and 4 which brought out the caution giving Weaver the lead.   On the same lap, Mike Shuckers broke into the top five. 

Weaver went on to lead the final two circuits to claim the victory.  Shuckers used the restart to advance his position, moving from fifth to second in the final two laps.  Sanso finished third, Timmy Bittner was fourth and Brayden Kuhn claimed fifth with a pass on the final lap.  Sixth through tenth were Skeetz Hockenbrock, Mac Wert, Troy Whitesel, Logan Hammaker, and Hunter Zimmerman.  Heat Races were won by Weaver, Wertman and Bittner.  

The Pro Stock feature was given the green flag with Brad Benton and Gary Mellott starting on the front row.   Benton led the opening laps when a caution occurred on lap three involving Rich Fye and Todd Geyer.   On the restart Benton maintained his position in front but had lots of company and several challenges for the lead.  At one moment seven cars were contending for the win, battling two and three wide for several laps.   By the completion of lap number five, Benton edged out Noah Jensen to lead the lap, but with Gary Mellott, AY Schilling, Brandon Moser, Cory Long, AJ Hoffman and Ray Rothfuss all within inches of one another while swapping positions.   Tressler, who started eighth, took over the second spot on lap number eight and made the winning pass on lap number nine.   With eleven laps complete of the 15 lap feature, it started to rain.   The cars were taken off the track and the event was checkered.  Tressler was declared the winner over AY Schilling, Brandon Moser, AJ Hoffman, and Ray Rothfuss.  Sixth through tenth were Cory Long, Noah Jensen, Logan Hile, Rich Fye and Marc Bitler.  Heat races were won by Benton and Moser.  

Due to the time of the shower, it was deemed that the track could not be run before the speedway’s curfew so the remainder of the event was cancelled.   600 Micro Sprint Qualifiers were won by Timmy Bittner and Jeffrey Weaver.  Sprint Car Heats were won by Daven Brenam, Scott Lutz and Garrett Bard.  4 Cylinder Heats were won by Sam Creveling, Blake Snyder, and John Bower.

Mill Hall, PA – Andrew Yoder of Selinsgrove is a top contender in the Limited Late Model division, no matter where he unloads his race car.  On Friday night, he claimed his 16^th win of his career at Clinton County.  “We really like racing here,” said Yoder in victory lane.  “We had a hard fought battle with Mike Smith, and it was fun.  If it wasn’t fun, we wouldn’t be doing this.”   Other winners of the night included AJ Stroup in the Pro Stocks, Timmy Bittner of Beech Creek in the 270s, Trevor Teats in the 600s and Chris Small in the Four Cylinders.

Nick Loffredo of Avis and Lock Haven’s Denny Fourney led the field to the green flag for the start of the 25 lap main event.  Loffredo led the opening lap with his son Joe Loffredo following in second and Fourney running in third.  Yoder, who started fifth, moved into the runner up position by lap number five. 

On the eighth circuit the caution flag waved for two cars that spun, while under the caution, Nick Loffredo went to the pit area with a flat tire, giving Yoder the race lead.  With the restart, Mike Smith of Renovo was able to challenge Yoder.  He made the pass for the lead as the cars exited turn two.  At the race’s midway point, Smith led Yoder, Jeremey Ohl, Jim Yoder, and Joe Lusk. 

On lap number 15, a steering component on Lusk’s car broke and he crashed into the wall in turns one and two.   Lusk was uninjured.   Smith led the field back for the restart and was able to hold off Yoder.  Jim Yoder moved into third with Ohl and Joe Loffredo completing the top 5.  On lap number 22, Andrew Yoder was able to get alongside Smith and challenge for the lead.  The duo battled down the back stretch, with Yoder able to secure the front position and led the final four laps to earn the win.   Smith finished second, Jim Yoder was third, Nick Loffredo was fourth and Tim Luben finished fifth.  Sixth through tenth were Joe Loffredo, Ohl, Len Stroud, Fourney and Lusk.  Heat races were won by Smith and Ohl.

AJ Stroup had the pole position for the start of the Pro Stock feature event.  Stroup led the opening lap with Robert Tressler and Ray Rothfuss on his rear bumper.   The event’s only caution occurred on lap number two when a pair of cars spun.  AY Schilling moved into second place by lap number five, while current point leader Brandon Moser took over the fourth spot.  The top four cars, Stroup, Schilling, Tressler and Moser, were all in contention for the win.  Moser was able to pass Tressler on lap number ten and then began to challenge Schilling.  In the final laps Schilling and Moser both challenged for the lead, in a three car battle for the win.  When the checkered flag waved, Stroup claimed his first win of the season holding off Schilling, Moser, Chris Long and Tressler.  “I knew that they were there,” said Stroup in victory lane.  “I saw the nose of one of their cars a few times, so I knew it was going to be a close finish.”  The win was Stroup’s sixth career victory at the speedway.  Sixth through tenth were Rothfuss, Noah Jensen, Mark Bitler, Rich Fye, and Bradley Benton.  Qualifying events were won by Jensen and Moser.

Trevor Teats started on the pole for the 600 Micro Sprint feature event.  Third place starter Josh Beamer quickly advanced to the runner up position, with Eric Knopp, Jeffrey Weaver and Timmy Bittner running in the top five.   The caution flag waved on lap number 5 for Knopp when his car stopped on the track. 

Teats executed a perfect restart to keep Beamer and the rest of the field behind him.   Bitner passed Weaver for the third position, as Johnny Smith entered the top five.   The remainder of the race went caution free, with Teats leading every lap to earn his first career victory.   The win came over Beamer, Bittner, Smith, and Weaver.  Sixth through tenth were Cody Hauck, Dustin Roberts, Derek Swartz, Sierra Hauck, and Bryce Harro.  Heat race winners were Teats and Sierra Hauck.

Denny Rinehimer and Timmy Bittner led the full field of 270 Micro Sprints to the green flag.  On the opening lap three cars tangled in turn number two to bring out the red flag, all drivers were uninjured.  Shaun Musser and Doug Reinhard took their cars to the pit area, while Tom Quiggle was able to rejoin for the restart.

Rinehimer led the first four circuits.  As the field was coming to complete lap number five, Bittner made a pass for the lead and third place runner, Jeffrey Weaver followed in his tire track, shuffling Rinehimer back to third.  Meanwhile, eleventh place starter Sean McAndrew was on the move working his way up through the field.  At the halfway mark of the race, Bitter was leading Weaver, with McAndrew now up to third, Rinehimer was fourth and Bobby Sanso was fifth.

On lap number 12, McAndrew passed Weaver for second and tried to chase down Bittner.  Bittner held on for the win over McAndrew.  Weaver finished third followed by Brayden Spencer and Rinehimer.  Sixth through tenth were Sanso, Nick Whitesel, Zachery Glass, Cody Siegel and Skeetz Hockenbrock.  Heat races were won by Wyatt Rotz, Spencer, Rinehimer, and Bittner.  Mathew Dixon won the consolation qualifier.

Kyle Strouse and Shawn Stahl led the field of Four Cylinder cars to the green flag for the initial start of their event.   The red flag came out after Kris Orwig rolled his car in turns one and two.   Upon the restart John Bower advanced from this third place starting spot to lead the opening lap.  By the completion of lap number four, Small who started seventh and Blake Snyder who started eighth moved their way to the front of the field and were chasing Bower.   On lap number seven, Small caught Bower and made the pass for the lead, with Snyder following him to take the second position.   On lap number nine, Jimmy Moyer who started ninth moved into third place.   In the final laps, Small was able to hold off Snyder to claim his first career win.  Finishing third was Moyer followed by Jason Goss and Virgil Meyers.  Sixth through tenth were Maddox Smith, Larry Bechtol Jr., Tyler Watson, Emily Brouse and Mike Hepler.  Heat race winners were Keith Haagen, Moyer, Bower.   The consy was won by Skyler Witchley.

Clinton County Speedway will feature a five division show plus kids bicycle races this coming Friday night, June 18^th presented by Century 21, 1^st Choice Realty and agent Bob Boob.  On the card will be the RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Pro Stocks, 270 Micro Sprints, 600 Micro Sprints and the Four Cylinders.  Kids 15 and under will compete in the kids bike races.  Gates will open at 5PM, Hot laps are at 7PM and Racing begins at 7:30PM.  For the latest speedway information visit our website at www.clintoncountyspeedway.com or follow us on Facebook.

Mill Hall, PA – Linden’s Dakota Schweikart grew up watching his father Dale Schweikart race at their hometown track, Clinton County Speedway.  The father-duo finished first and second on several occasions with Dale as the winner as recently as two weeks ago.  However, this past Friday night, Dakota Schweikart was able to get the job done, advancing from his seventh place starting spot to win his first career sprint car feature at Clinton County.   Other winners of the night included Brandon Moser of Milerstown, in the Pro Stocks, Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven in the 270 Micro Sprints, Derek Swartz of Jersey Shore in the 600 Micro Sprints, and Blake Snyder of Montgomery in the 4-Cylinders.

Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven and Josh Beamer of Picture Rocks, led the field of sprint cars to the green flag for the 25 lap main event.    Weaver took the early lead with fourth place starter Ryan Lynn of Holidaysburg in pursuit.   By the third circuit, defending track champion and 2020 IMCA National champion Garrett Bard of Wells Tannery took over the third spot and began to pressure Lynn.  On that same lap Dakota Schweikart moved into the top five.  

Weaver at times maintained a half of a straight away advantage over Lynn, Bard, Josh Beamer and Schweikart, as the leaders began to encounter lapped traffic.  The event’s first caution occurred on lap number 14 for Frank Rusnock. 

The event’s final caution occurred on lap number 17 when Dave Guss Jr. and Quinn Roberts spun coming out of turn number four.   Dakota Schweikart was able to use the restart as an opportunity to wrestle the third position away from Bard, as Dale Schweikart moved into the top five.   On lap number 19, Dakota Schweikart was able to pass Lynn for second and he set his sites on catching Weaver.  As the field got the two laps to go sign from the flag stand, Schweikart made the winning pass.   Weaver finished second, Lynn was third, Dale Schweikart claimed fourth on the final lap with Bard rounding out the top five.  Sixth through tenth were Ken Duke Jr., Aaron Jacobus, Scott Lutz, Derick Hauck, and John Walp.   Heat races were won by Aaron Jacobus, Dakota Schweikart and John Walp.

Gary Mellott of Flemington started on the pole for the Pro Stock feature event and led the opening lap.   Second place starter Ray Rothfuss claimed the lead by the completion of lap number two.   As Rothfuss continued to lead the race, the battle between fifth and sixth place starters, Cory Long and Brandon Moser became contested.   The pair of drivers raced hard for the runner up position lap after lap.   Following a caution on lap number 7 for Gary Mellott and Noah Jensen, the field regroup on the back bumper of Rothfuss.   At the race’s midway point, Moser was able to take second place from Long, as AY Schilling, and AJ Stroup ran in the top five.   On lap number 13, Moser took the top spot from Rothfuss who then had to contend with Long, Schilling and Stroup.   Coming to the checkered flag, Moser was in control of the field, while Rothfuss, Long and Schilling battled for second.  Rothfuss drifted high coming out of turn four, allowing Long to finish second, Schilling was third, Rothfuss was fourth and AJ Stroup was fifth.  Sixth through tenth were Robert Tressler, Brad Myers, Noah Jensen, Rich Fye, and Jason Smith.   Heat races were won by Schilling and Moser.

Levi Brungard of Mill Hall and Denny Rinehimer led the field of 270 Micro Sprints to the green flag.  Rinehimer took the lead with fourth place starter Bobby Sanso of Jersey Shore on his back bumper.   The field began to encounter lapped traffic by the completion of lap number five with Rinehimer leading Sanso, Skeetz Hockenbrock, Jeffrey Weaver and Hunter Zimmerman.  By the completion of lap number nine Weaver took the runner up position from Sanso.  

Rinehimer led every lap and appeared to be on his way to claiming his first win of the season.  As the driver entered the third and fourth turns, misfortune struck as the car suffered a mechanical issue to bring out the caution.   Weaver inherited the lead with one lap to go and held off the challenges from Sanso, Hockenbrock Whitesel and Nick Whitesel.  Sixth through tenth were Gary Keister, Logan Hammaker, Matt Dixson, Tom Quiggle and Dan Wertman.    Heat races were won by Nick Whitesel, Weaver, and Rinehimer. 

Derek Swartz of Jersey Shore started on the pole of the 600 Micro Sprint feature event.   Schwartz led the first lap with Cody Hauck, Jeffrey Weaver, Ethan Spots and Sierra Hauck in the top five.    On lap number four, Spotts moved into the third position.  At the midway point of the race, the top five remained unchanged.   Swartz led every lap but did not want to see a caution which occurred on lap number 12 when Josh Beamer’s car stopped.   The restart gave Cody Hauck an opportunity, but Schwartz was flawless on the restart and went on to claim his first career win over Hauck, Spotts, Sierra Hock and Timmy Bittner.   Weaver finished sixth, Dustin Roberts was seventh, Dexter Strawser was eighth, Mitchell Holden was ninth, and Josh Beamer finished tenth.  Heat race winners were Sierra Hauck and Ethan Spotts.

On the opening lap of the four cylinder feature event, pole sitter Dylan Craft rolled his car several times in turn number two.  The driver was uninjured.   Upon the restart, Scott Englert took the lead over John Bower with Maddox Smith, Keith Haagen and Jimmy Moyer in the top five.   Smith made the pass for the lead by the completion of lap number five as eighth place starter Blake Snyder moved into the top five.   On lap number eight, Smith led Snyder, Moyer, and Tim Raup.  As Smith exited turn number four and appeared to be on his way to victory, something broke in the motor allowing Blake Snyder to take the win over Raup, Moyer, Sam Creveling and Corey Small.   Smith crossed the finish line in sixth, followed by Mike Helper, Skyler Witchley, Joey Snook, and Kyle Strouse.  Heat races were won by Small, Emily Brouse and Tim Raup.

Mill Hall, PA – Clinton County Speedway officials made the decision to cancel the Friday, May 28^th event when it started to rain mid-afternoon on Friday.  The extended forecast for the remainder of the evening also predicted continued rain throughout the night.     

As a result, the speedway will focus on the upcoming show on Friday, June 4^th.  Werner Fuels of Paxinos will present a 5 division racing program featuring the Race Saver Sprint Cars, Pro Stocks, 270 Micro Sprints, 600 Micro Sprints, and the 4 Cylinder Stock Cars.  Gates will open at 5PM, hot-laps are at 7PM and racing begins at 7:30PM.

So far this season, the current championship point leaders are as follows:  Garrett Bard of Wells Tannery leads the RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Andrew Yoder of Middleburg leads the Limited Late Models, Brandon Moser of Millerstown leads the Pro Stocks, Johnny Smith of Scranton leads the 600 Micro Sprints, Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven leads the 270 Micro Sprints, and Blake Snyder of Montgomery leads the 4 Cylinder Stock Cars.

Mill Hall, PA – Veteran driver Dale Schweikart of Linden held off his son Dakota Schweikart in a non-stop 25 lap RaceSaver Sprint Car race on Friday night at the Clinton County Speedway.  The win was the 40^th career victory for Dale Schweikart at the 3/8^th mile oval.  Other winners included Corey Long of Selinsgrove in the Pro Stocks, Ross Perchak of Bloomsburg in the 270 Micro Sprints, Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven in the 600 Micro Sprints, Blake Snyder of Montgomery in the Four Cylinder Stock Cars and Emily Brouse in the Junior 4-Cylinder division. 

Dale and Dakota Schweikart brought the full field of 24 RaceSaver Sprints Cars to the green flag of the 25 lap main event.  Dale Schweikart led the opening lap with Dakota Schweikart, Jarrett Calvert, Jeffrey Weaver and Aaron Jacobus in the top five.   By circuit number five, the leaders began to encounter lapped traffic, with Weaver moving into the third postion.  Jared Zionkowski, who started tenth moved into top five on the completion of lap number seven.  With the completion of lap number ten, Dale Schweikart was in heavy lapped traffic while Dakota attempted to keep pace with his father.

As the duo raced through lapped traffic, Dakota Schweikart tried to make quick work of the lapped cars to catch his father, and on one occasion he passed two lapped cars at the same time as he exited turn two.  “I was hoping lapped traffic would work to my advantage tonight,” said Dakota in a post-race interview.  “Just when I thought I had a chance to catch him, he would put another lapped car between us.” Twelfth place starter Garrett Bard moved into the top five with five laps remaining in the event.   Dale Schweikart continued to weave this way through traffic and help off the attempts from Dakota Schweikart   Jeffrey Weaver finished third, Garrett Bard made a last lap pass to earn the fourth position and Aaron Jacobus completed the top five.  Sixth through tenth were Zionkowski, Ken Duke Jr, who earned the hard-charger award by advancing from the 21^st starting position, Reed Thompson was eight followed by Calvert and Josh Beamer.  Heat races were won by Dale Schweikart, Weaver and Lutz.

The win was the 6^th career RaceSaver Sprint Victory for Schweikart and the 40^th overall in his career.   The 40 wins occurred in eight different divisions. 

Lock Haven’s Robert Tressler lead the opening laps of the Pro Stock feature event.  Front row starter Marc Bitler of Williamsport took the lead from Tressler by the completion of lap number five.   By the midway mark of the race, Long powered by Bitler to take the lead with Noah Jensen of Wapwallopen in pursuit.   Three-time feature winner Brandon Moser advanced for his 6^th place starting spot to take the third position on lap number eleven.   While Long held a three car advantage over the rest of the field, the battle was heating up for second with Jensen, Moser and Bitler in hot pursuit.   When the checkered flag waved, Long secured his first win of the season over Jensen, Bitler, Moser and Tressler.  Sixth through tenth belonged to AY Schilling AJ Hoffman, Rooster Peters, Kevin Way and Chris Orwig Jr.       Heat races were won by Long and AJ Stroup.

In 270 Micro Sprint action, Mill Hall’s Timmy Bitner advanced from his 4^th place starting spot to lead the opening lap.  Ninth place starter, Perchak took command of the field by the completion of lap number 5.  Weaver followed suit and claimed the second position with Brandon Spencer in tow.

The red flag waved on lap number eight when Cory Stabled rolled his car on the front stretch.  On the restart, Spenser took the second spot while Cody Seigel who started 12^th moved into the top five by the completion of lap number nine. On the white flag lap, Perchak lead Spencer and Seigel.  Seigel made a last lap pass to wrestle the runner up postion away from Spenser, while Bitler and Weaver finished in the top five.  Sixth through tenth were Hunter Zimmerman, Dan Wertman, Logan Hammaker, Denny Rinehimer and Mitchell Holden.  Heat races were won by Ross Perchak, Bobby Sanso, Denny Rinehimer

In 600 Micro Sprint competition fourth place starter Jeffrey Weaver passed Timmy Bitner for the lead by the completion of lap number two.   Josh Beamer advanced from the sixth starting position to take the second postion by the conclusion of lap number six.   Weaver and Beamer encountered lapped traffic with two laps to go.   Weaver held off the challenges by Beamer to secure the win with Cody Hauck, Johnny Smith and Sierra Hauck completing the top five.  Sixth through tenth were Timmy Bitner, Dermont Thompson, Mitchell Holden, Kyle Knopp and Ethan Spotts.  Weaver and Spotts won the qualifying events. 

Cody Stover of Lock Haven started on the front row of the 12-lap four cylinder stock car main event.   Stover led the first several circuits and battled with Chris Small and Blake Snyder in a closely contested battle for the lead.  On lap number nine, Stover’s car broke while leading.   Following the restart, Small had mechanical issues, giving the top spot to Snyder.   Snyder held off the late race challenge to claim the victory over last week’s winner Jimmy Moyer, Maddox Smith, Skyler Witchley and Keith Haagen. Heat races were won by Scott Englert, Snyder and Small.

In the four cylinder junior division, Emily Brouse was the winner over Caden Kennedy, Chelsie Harris and Chloe Smith.

Mill Hall, PA – Selinsgrove’s Jim Yoder has driven about every form of late model division at the Clinton County Speedway.  When the speedway opened, Yoder was a regular competitor in the semi-late division.  He has also competed in Super Late Models and now drives a Limited Late Model.  On Friday night, he earned his first win of the season and his 43^rd career victory at the 3/8^th mile oval.  “I just really enjoy racing here,” said Yoder in Victory Lane.  “The track was great.”  The other winners of the night included Millerstown’s Brandon Moser, Scranton’s Johnny Miller, Sean McAndrew, Jimmy Moyer of Lewistown, and Dean Kauffman of Coalport.

Jeremy Ohl of Jersey Shore and Andrew Yoder of Middleburg led the field to the green flag.  As the duo raced side by side into turn number one, Ohl’s car slid into Andrew Yoder to bring out the caution.   The restart found Lock Haven’s Denny Fourney and Nick Loffredo of Jersey Shore on the front row.  Loffredo jumped into the early lead with Renovo’s Mike Smith and Jim Yoder in pursuit.  Smith made several attempts to pass Loffredo and was successful in taking the lead on lap number nine.  Yoder passed Loffredo for second on lap number ten and set his sights on catching Smith.   In the meantime, Andrew Yoder who was involved in the opening lap caution had worked his way back up through the field and moved into the top five.  At the race’s midway point, Smith led Jim Yoder, Nick Loffredo, Denny Fourney and Andrew Yoder.

Jim made the winning pass on lap number 15 and began to encounter lapped traffic on lap 19.   Yoder continued to lead the remaining laps to earn his first win of the season.  Smith finished second, Andrew Yoder was third followed by Devein Frey and Loffredo.  Sixth through tenth were Fourney, Joe Loffredo, Danny Snyder, Tim Luben and Kaiden Bard.  Heat races were won by Smith and Andrew Yoder. 

The 270 Micro Sprint feature had Shawn Musser of Bellefonte and Hunter Zimmerman of Aaronsburg on the front row.   The red flag came out on the opening lap, as eight cars tangled in turns three and four.  All drivers were uninjured.   When the race resumed, Shawn Musser led the opening lap with Denny Rinehimer, Timmy Bitner, Zimmerman, and Wyatt Rotz in the top five.

Tenth place starter Shawn McAndrew worked his way up through the field and by the completion of lap number three, found his way to the front with Wyatt Rotz right behind him in the runner up position.   At the midway point of the race, McAndrew led Rotz, Jeffrey Weaver, Musser, and Aidan Adams.  The leaders began to encounter lapped traffic with three laps remaining.   Adams brought out the red flag when his car rolled over while battling for position.  Andrews was able to execute a perfect restart and went on to earn the victory.  Wyatt Rotz passed Weaver on the restart to claim the runner up position.   Skeetz Hockenbrock finished fourth and Dan Wortman rounded out the top five.  Sixth through tenth were Musser, Zimmerman, Logan Hammaker, Buddy Kramer, and Levi Brungard.  Heat races were won by McAndrew and Bitner.

Lock Haven’s Rich Fye and Robert Tressler brought the field of Pro Stocks to the green flag for their feature event.   Tressler used the top racing groove to take the lead down the back straight away in the early laps.  Sixth place starter Brandon Moser advanced one spot by the completion of every lap.  On lap three he was in the third spot and by lap four he passed Cory Long for the runner up position.   Once Moser caught Tressler the duo battled for the top position for a few laps.   By lap number seven, Moser took the top position with Tressler, Long, Ay Schilling, and Marc Bitler in the top five. 

The event’s final caution came out on lap number 10, when Logan Hile’s car stopped in turn four.  Moser held off any challenges in the final laps to claim his third win in a row.  Corey Long made a last lap pass to earn the runner up position.  Tressler finished third, Noah Jenson was fourth and Schilling was fifth.  Sixth through tenth were Gary Mellott, Rich Fye, Marc Bitler, Kevin VanAmburg, and Rooster Peters.  Heat races were won by Long and Moser.

In 600 Micro Sprint competition, Beech Creek’s Timmy Bittner and West Milton’s Sierra Hauck were the front row starters.  Bittner took early command of the field with Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven and Scranton’s Johnny Smith in pursuit.  Weaver and Smith battled hard for the runner up position.  Smith took the runner up position by the completion of lap number three, with Weaver reclaiming the spot on the next circuit.  Smith finally cleared Weaver and began to close the three car length advantage that Bitner had established.   On lap number ten, Smith was able to make the winning pass round Bitner.   Cautions on lap number 12 and 13 bunched the field on Smith’s back bumper.  Smith was able to hold off the challenges and claimed his third win of the season.  Bitner finished second, Weaver was third, Sierra Hauck was fourth and Cody Hauck finished fifth.  Sixth through tenth were, Ethan Spotts, Trevor Teats, Mason Peters, Dustin Roberts, and Jeff Gyuina.  Peters and Smith won the heat races.    

In four-cylinder stock car competition, Renovo’s Maddox Smith and Lock Haven’s Kris Orwig Jr led the field to the start of the main event.  Cody Stover of Lock Haven raced his way to the front to lead the opening laps of the event.   Blake Snyder of Montgomery, who started sixth, took the lead on lap number four but two laps later suffered mechanical issues and brought out the caution.   Chris Small led lap number eight before Jimmy Moyer who started eleventh made the winning pass of the race.  It was Moyers first career win in four-cylinder competition earning the checkers over Chris Small, John Bower, Skylar Witchley, and Maddox Smith.  Sith through tenth were Tim Muthler, Zachery Rill, Dylan Hoover, Virgil Myer, and Cody Maines.  Heat races were won by Stover, Moyer, and Snyder. 

In the four cylinder junior division, Dean Kauffman of Coalport won over Chile Smith and Caden Kennedy.

Mill Hall, PA – Clinton County Speedway officials made the decision to cancel the Friday, May 7^th event after a down-pour occurred mid-afternoon on Friday.  The extended forecast for the rest of the evening also influenced the decision as it was predicted for additional rain.  

As a result, the speedway will focus on the upcoming show on Friday, May 14^th.  The 5 division racing program will feature the Limited Late Models, Pro Stocks, 270 Micro Sprints, 600 Micro Sprints, and the 4 Cylinder Stock Cars.  Gates will open at 5PM, hot-laps are at 7PM and racing begins at 7:30PM.

After two weeks of racing, the point leaders are as follows:  Garrett Bard of Wells Tannery leads the RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Andrew Yoder of Middleburg leads the Limited Late Models, Brandon Moser of Millerstown leads the Pro Stocks, Johnny Smith of Scranton leads the 600 Micro Sprints, Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven leads the 270 Micro Sprints, and Blake Snyder of Montgomery leads the 4 Cylinder Stock Cars.

Mill Hall, PA – Andrew Yoder of Selinsgrove led every lap of the 25 lap Limited Late Model feature to claim 17^th career win and his first win of the season at the Clinton County Speedway.  Brandon Moser of Millerstown and Johnny Smith of Scranton were repeat winners in the Pro Stocks and 600 Micro Sprints.  Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven won the 270 Micro Sprints, Blake Snyder of Montgomery won the 4-Cylinders and Chloe Smith won the Junior 4-Cylinder division.

Joe Lusk of Jersey Shore and Yoder started on the front row of the 25 lap feature event.   The duo raced side by side into turn number one at the drop of the green flag.  “I knew Joe would be hard to pass,” said Yoder “I tried the outside and hoped that it would stick.”  Yoder’s pass worked and allowed him to choose his preferred line in the middle of the track as they raced through turns three and four.    Yoder began to encounter lapped traffic on lap number seven, with Lusk, Jim Yoder of Selinsgrove, Tim Luben of Mill Hall and Mike Smith of Renovo in the top give.   Yoder was able to open up a half a straight-a-way lead over Lusk.  At the race’s half-way point, Yoder was trying to work through lapped traffic, and Lusk began to close in on the leader.  The caution flag waved on lap number 14, when Len Stroud of Jersey Shore spun in turn number 4.  

Yoder had a flawless restart and continued to lead the remaining laps to earn the victory.  Lusk finished second, followed by Jim Yoder, Mike Smith, Joe Loffredo.  Denny Fourney of Lock Haven was sixth, Tim Luben was seventh, Len Stroud was eighth and Kaiden Bard was nineth.  Heats were won by Andrew Yoder and Jim Yoder. 

Skeetz Hockenbrock and Jeffrey Weaver led the field of 21 270-Micro Sprints to the green flag.  Hockenbrock took the early lead with Weaver in close pursuit followed by Denny Rinehimer of Bloomsburg, Zach Glass, and Ethan Rotz of Spring Run.  Weaver passed Hockenbrock to lead lap number four.  Rotz, who was last week’s feature winner, passed Glass on lap number 7 for the fourth position.  Weaver and Hockenbrock began to encounter lapped traffic in the closing laps of the race.  Rinehimer was battling with Rotz and Glass. On the final lap Rinehimer drifted high coming out of turn number two and lost two positions, allowing Rotz and Glass to move into the third and fourth positions.  The win for Weaver was his 30^th career victory in 270 Micro Sprint competition.  Sixth through tenth were Aidan Adams, Bobby Sanso, Dan Wertman, Logan Hammaker and Matthew Dixson.  Heat races were won by Hockenbrock, Weaver and Timmy Bittner.

Nate Stroup and Noah Jensen of Nescopeck comprised the front row of the 15 lap Pro Stock feature event.  Jensen took the early command of the field.  By lap number five, 4^th place starter Brandon Moser took the runner up position from Stroup and set his sites on Jensen while Jason Gessman and AY Schilling were running in the top five.  The caution flag came out on lap number 7 for Brad Myers, Kevin VanAmburg and Gary Mellott.  Moser restarted along side of Jensen as they battled for lead racing into

turns 1 and 2.  Moser took the lead at the completion of lap number eight.   On lap ten, a second caution came out for Brad Benton who slowed on the front stretch.   Moser continued to lead following the restart, while Jensen was trying everything to get by the leader.  On lap number 13, Jensen brushed against the front stretch wall, allowing several cars to get by him.   At the checkered flag it was Moser with the win over Gessman, Schilling, Corey Long, and Stroup.  Sixth through tenth were Jensen, Robert Tressler, Rich Fye, Rooster Peters, and Gary Mellott.  Heat races were won by Long and Gessman.

In 600 Micro Sprint action, Jeffrey Weaver and his sister, Sierra Weaver Hauck started on the front row of the feature event.   Jeffrey led the opening lap, with third place starter, Johnny Smith running second.  Smith made the winning pass on Weaver by the completion of lap number two with Sierra Hauck, Timmy Bittner and Cody Hauck rounding out the top five.  Bitner moved into the third position on lap number eight.  On lap number eleven, the caution came out when Bitner’s car blew an engine. 

The caution caused a one lap shootout to the finish.  Smith held off the challenges of Weaver to claim his second win a row.  Weaver finished second, Cody Hauck was third followed by Sierra Hauck and Dustin Roberts.  The heat race was won by Jeffrey Weaver.

Blake Snyder and Keith Haggen started on the front row of the 4-Cylinder feature event.   Snyder took the early lead and battled with Dylan Craft. Craft was credited with leading the third lap, but Snyder powered by Craft to regain the lead on lap number 4.   Haggen moved back into the runner up position on the same lap. Mike Luther challenged Haggen for the runner up position and eventually moved into second on lap number 9.  The duo continued in a contested race for second, with Haggen making a last lap pass to finish second behind Snyder.  Luther finished third, Kris Shirk was fourth and Dylan Craft finished fifth.  Sixth through tenth were Nick Goutile, Chris Small, Brett Shirk, Skylar Witchley, and Seth Derr.  Heats were won by Snyder and Haggen.

In the junior 4-Cylinder division, Chloe Smith was the feature winner.

Mill Hall, PA – The defending National RaceSaver Sprint Car Champion and 2020 Clinton County Speedway Champion, Garrett Bard of Wells Tannery earned the victory on opening night at 3/8^th mile oval.  Other winners on opening night included Bandon Moser of Millerstown in the Pro Stocks, Johnny Smith of Scranton in the 600 Micro Sprints, Wyatt Rotz of Spring Run in the 270 Micro Sprints, and Scott Englert of Bellefonte in the 4-Cylinder stocks cars. 

Aaron Jacobus of Corning, NY and Bard started on the front row of the 25 lap feature event. At the drop of the green flag, Bard jumped into the lead while Jacobus battled with third place started Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven for the runner-up position.  On lap number 5, Bard chased down the back of the field and began to encounter lapped traffic.  Weaver moved into second on lap number eight with Reed Thompson, Ken Duke and Scott Lutz running in the top five. 

Bard continued to dice this way through lapped traffic as his #95 car could run low or high on the speedway surface.  “I was able to catch the cushion coming off of turn number 4 and the car handled really well tonight,” said Bard in Victory Lane.  As Bard raced this way through lapped traffic, Weaver was running a strong second, but the third through seventh place cars were contending for position.  Lutz and Dakota Schweikart were racing for the third and fourth positions while Ken Duke of Selinsgrove, Dale Schweikart of Linden and Reed Thompson of Petersburg were racing for 5^th.  On lap 22, Duke and Dale Schweikart were racing hard. The two cars touched and Schweikart’s car crashed on the front straightaway and rolled over bringing out the red flag. Schweikart was uninjured.

The restart provided the field one more opportunity to take the win from Bard with three laps remaining.  Bard was able to hold off the challenges of Weaver with Lutz, Dakota Schweikart and Ken Duke rounding out the top 5.  Sith through tenth were Jacobus, Reed Thompson, Josh Beamer, Matt Tebbs and Jarrett Clavaret.  Heat races were won by Weaver and Duke.

Kevin VanAmburg of Lock Haven and Kris Orwig Sr led the field of Pro Stock to the green flag for their 15 lap main event.  VanAmburg took the early lead with third place starter Nathan Stroup in second.  On lap number two, while running third, Orwig spun out in turn number two and caused a five car pile-up involving Robert Tressler, Rich Fye, Noah Jensen and Gary Mellott.  VanAmburg continued to lead upon the restart of the race, while the drivers running in second through fifth positions ran two and three-wide.  Brandon Moser, who started fifth moved into the third spot on lap three and took the second spot from Stroup on lap number eight.  On lap number nine Moser caught VanAmburg and took the lead, as Ray Rothfuss, who started seventh moved into third.  In the races closing laps, the Pro Stock drivers continued to race two and three-wide while swapping position.  When the checkered flag waved, Moser was the victor over Rothfuss, Noah Jensen, Nathan Stroup and Cory Long.  Heat races were won by Jensen and Rothfuss.

Hunter Zimmerman and Tom Quiggle held the front row position for the start of the 270 Micro Sprint feature.  By the completion of lap number one, Denny Rinehimmer advanced from his third place starting spot to lead the first circuit.   On the third lap, Jeffrey Weaver moved into second place and began to pressure Rinhimmer.  A lap later he made the pass for the lead with Rinehimer, Timmy Bittner, Shawn Musser and Wyatt Rotz running in the top five. 

At the races midway point, Rinehimer who was running in second slowed and returned his car to the pit area allowing defending track champion Timmy Bittner to set his sites on catching Weaver.  In the meantime, Rotz started moving forward and passed Bitner on lap number twelve.  After the completion of the 13^th lap, the yellow came out for Sam Chamberlin who stopped on the front stretch.  The caution set up a green-white-checkered scenario for Weaver, Rotz, Bittner, Musser, and Dan Wertman.  Weaver was getting pressure from Rotz as the white flag waved.  Rotz used the top side of the speedway and carried his momentum out of turn number two to power by Weaver going down the back stretch.  That pass earned Rotz his first win of year over Weaver Bittner, Musser and Wertman.  Bobby Sanso finished sixth followed by Zimmerman, Buddy Kramer, Logan Hammaker and Matthew Dixon.  Heat race were won by Weaver, Bittner and Quiggle.

Cody Hauck led the opening laps of the 600 Micro Sprint feature event. Hauck and Josh Beamer brought the field to the green flag for the 15 lap feature.   Second generation drivers Johnny Smith and Jeffrey Weaver contested for the second position, with Smith taking second place at the completion of the second circuit.  Hauck, Smith, Weaver, Beamer, and Ethan Spotts were racing in the top five at the event’s halfway mark.  On the next lap, Smith passed Hauck for the lead and Weaver passed Hauck on lap number eleven to move into second.   Smith held off Weaver and earned the win with a .652 second margin of victory over Weaver, Beamer, Hauck, and Spotts.  Sierra Hauck, Timmy Bittner, Tyson Mowery, Mitchell Holden, and James Layton completed the top ten.  Heat races were won by Beamer and Smith.

The Four Cylinder feature took the green flag in the 12 lap main event with Larry Spencer III and Maddox Smith on the front row.  Smith led the opening lap with Michael Luther moving into second.  At the completion of lap number two; Smith, Luther, William Kephart crashed in turn number one.  Upon the restart, Spencer inherited the lead for the restart.  Eleventh place starter Scott Englert restarted second and took the lead from Spencer at the completion of lap number 4.  Jimmy Moyer moved into third at the completion of lap number five.  At the races halfway point, Englert led Spencer, Moyer, Keith Hagen, and Mike Hepner were running in the top five.  Englert continued to lead the remaining laps to earn his first career victory over Moyer, Spencer, Blake Snyder, and Larry Bechdel. Sixth through tenth were Mike Hepner, Keith Hagen, Chelsie Harris, Jonathan Strongfield and Skylar Witchley.  Heat races were won by Kephart, Bechdel, Englehart.

During opening ceremonies, the speedway honored the 2020 champions including Garrett Bard in the Sprint Cars, Matt Cochran in the Late Models, Noah Jensen in the Pro Stocks, Timmy Bittner in the 270 Micro Sprints, Tyson Mowery in the 600 Micro Sprints and Maddox Smith in the 4-Cylinders. 

The Clinton County Speedway returns to racing this Friday night for another 5 division racing program.
